Rush Limbaugh's battle to say in talk radio.
Posted : 8 Feb, 2009 09:11 AM

Ronald Reagan described him as "the number one voice for Conservatism in our country" while, during the Clinton era, the National Review magazine grandly dubbed him the "leader of Conservative Principles".

Broadcasting from what he describes as a "heavily fortified bunker" in Palm Beach, Florida, Limbaugh has been America's most listened-to talk show host since the mid-1990s.

President Obama warned Republicans on Capitol Hill today that they need to quit listening to radio king Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration.

"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," he told top GOP leaders, whom he had invited to the White House to discuss his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.

To get the silence-Limbaugh campaign going, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee yesterday (January 27) launched a petition drive urging people to EXPRESS [THEIR] OUTRAGE ABOUT RUSHS COMMENTS that stated his hope that Obamas socialistic plans will fail. This followed a warm up led by assorted news anchors, pundits, and celebrities denouncing Limbaugh in the media.

Why should we be concerned? Well first of all Rush Limbaugh is a private citizen, not a politician. We as private citizens have the right to free speech. Obama and the liberal Democrats are launching a petition to silence Limbaugh just because they do not want or like to hear what he has to say. Even if one personally does not care for Limbaugh, we should all be concerned with losing the Freedom of Speech that is granted to us in the Constitution.

Our rights in America are an illusion anyway, and have been since the Patriot act. The government can do whatever it wants on just suspicion of a crime being committed, and that doesn't even have to be confirmed by a judge anymore.

But I do have to agree that we should voice our anger to our representatives, not that they will listen, but they will be aware.

The reason they don't care what we think is, we always re-elect them anyway. If you want to get their attention, start a campaign to have them voted out, even if it means putting a member of the opposing party in office. At least you would know what to expect from them, not like the Republican traitors who are voting us into socialism.

Just my thoughts,

Leon

Oh they will listen...if enough people call their Reps. and complain. The last thing they want is to lose votes or be in fear of losing votes. That is why Rush is so important. He keeps the public stirred just enough to be calling. It is important that we do not give up and give in.

I have been listening to Rush since 1990, and I use to really like him. But he has gotten off course as far as I'm concerned in many things and has started believeing his own ranting...

I listened to him everyday during the campaign before Hillary dropped out of the race, and I was so disappointed in him when he called for all the undecided Repubs and Demos to vote for McCain or Hillary, in order to try and throw Obama out of the race, because he wanted McCain and Hillary.

He talks too much about nothing anymore, becasue he thinks he is in leadership of the American people by radio, but the 65% of Americans who voted for Obama proved he has nor does he have any pwoer over the voice of the people who DON"T listen to his show and have minds of their own to vote for who they please.

I didn't vote for Obama or McCain. But I sure didn't vote because of nothing Rush had to say. He and Hannity have need to move on. Obama is President and its because of their own disdain for him on the radio, that the American people voted for Obama. But neither one of these guys have sense enough to know it... They are hoping Obama fails, but there are too many people behind Obama to allow this to happen. Sure he will make many mistakes, but so have all the other Presidents.

I'm a Bush fan, and no matter what people think of him, I still respected him as my President, just as I do Obama. I respected Bush, because it was the people who voted him into office, not once but twice. So you've got to give him his props for serving two terms. And its because of the Demos that our economy is in such bad shape, not what Bush did, but what he couldn't do, because of Congress and the voting Demos in Washington. Fanny Mae and Mack are the Demos' baby...they allowed this to happen, not Bush!

Rush is mad Hillary and McCain didn't win, and he needs to get some therapy and get over it.... and keep it moving. I also think Obama needs to keep it moving and leave Rush and Hannity alone! Being sensitive to what others say and comments made about you, ain't the way either and sure isn't going to keep him going as President. Bush put up with all kinds of negative hurtful press and comments, but one thing I can say about him, Bush was a man of good character and kept it moving regardless of what was said about him.

How dare Obama and the Demos try and stop Rush from speaking his peace about Obama and his polices, this is Amercia and he has a right to say what he pleases, just as long as its not so disrespectful... but even so, you can't stop him. So is Obama trying for a dictator Presidential position over America??... then he needs to be impeached now... where is the petition??...:yay: :peace: ha!

Sounds a little familiar doesn't it? Hitler was voted in to office by a large margin also. The first thing he did was control the media, then move the country to socialism, followed by gun control, and finally dictatorship.

America needs a history lesson, while we still have a country. It may already be too late. Obama is negotiating with the European Union central banking system, who are trying to form a one world currency, the Euro. The first step will be, the forming of an American central bank, controlled by the government. When this happens, it is already a done deal. The fear of a depression is forcing many countries to join the EU, don't think we are immune. Washington has been discussing it for over a year.

Leon

Right Leon, and you know what? Its all apart of fulfilling of God's word. The establishment of a One World System, is in fact, leading to the setup for the kingdom of the anitchrist who is a godly man that will supposedly, come out of a European country, in the last days under a one world system. God has everything laid out in His word and Isaiah and I & II Theessalonians pretty much explains everything.

Obama is also a reminder for me, of Saul. The people wanted, and God gave, to show the people they had need to wait on the Lord when choosing a leader over them. God had already chosen David, but they couldn't wait, so He showed the people the kind of king Saul would be, but they still wanted him over them, to pull them out of their economic problems:devil:.... read for yourself!...its all in the BOOK!

Amen and amen. Read the book!

The best sermon I have ever seen, was by John Hagee, and the title was.... Read The Book. He said, If you want your marriage to succeed, read the book...if you want your children to be good, read the book... If you want to know what is happening in the world, read the book...If you want to know how it all turns out, read the book.

It is such a simple message, but with so much truth. And very powerful coming from Hagee. He is a very anointed speaker. And was in rare form that day, walking back and forth with the Bible held above his head, almost screaming, READ THE BOOK!!! Powerful message.

Blessings,

Leon

Think of it this way....every day is one day closer to November 2012 when we vote for Sarah Palin for President!!!

I do have to say that Sarah Pallin impressed me more than all the other people running. She just seemed like a normal person to me. Even causing the guy to lose his job because he hurt a family member, I can see myself doing that. That is a normal person's reaction. I think, if we can elect some real people, instead of politicians, we might get something done for the people for once.

Leon,

I could open a new thread on that topic...in fact....I think I will.

It is all history repeating itself. Now will you all cut it with the doom and gloom?

If Zero tells us not to listen to Rush Limbaugh you do just the opposite, you listen to Rush!

Same as when he tells us...no guns....we buy more guns than ever!

To have abortions......we are pro-life!

Now do you get it? That is how you fight Zero and the liberal left.

Fighting the left isn't doing the opposite of what they say. If all the true in heart Christians in America would stand together in unity and as oneness in what God says in His word. And stop voting FOR people in office who oppose those things God says are sinful, and would start voting AGAINST what you know to be wrong. THIS IS WHAT WILL STOP the left, and all their foolishness.

Nobody votes according to their spiritual convicts, biblical beliefs or God's moral standards in His word anymore. People vote for who they like and not for what they know. So again, you get what and who you cast your lots for...

Christians are too passive and tend to take reactive measures when things don't work out as they thought, instead of proactive measure before they have need to act!

God never told us to be passive or humble toward sin or the sinner. God teaches that we are to rebuke sin and wrong harshly!... For the kingdom suffers violence, and the violence take it by force. This doesn't mean to involve ourselves in violence, but it does mean to stand our grounds with the word of God, and in the power of the Holy Spirit to fight against wrong and those who do wrong, and those who make the laws that are wrong. Revolt??....

Do you think when Jesus returns He's going to walk a soft shoe to reclaim His people and kingdom against satan?...I don't think so. Nor does God expect us as Christians to stand passively and watch the devil use the sinful people in leadership to force their immoral views and policies on us.

God is going to hold US accountable for NOT taking a strong stand againts evil! God says obey the laws of the land, except wherein the laws of the land are in opposition of His laws...
