Chose to set "Purification" as this topic title because there are so many passages talking about it, so I hope that you guys are going to post comments with passages of the Scriptures on this topic that speak to your hearts in order to encourage our brothers and sisters in Christ. Let us refresh each other's faith and bring us closer to the Big Daddy.

Here an article on the purification of our hearts. It is called "That you may be saved." Here it goes:

That you may be saved

Jeremiah 4:14

O Jerusalem, wash your heart from wickedness, that you may be saved.

How long shall your evil thoughts lodge within you?

(New King James Version NKJV)

In this chapter, God was using Jeremiah to proclaim His judgement upon Jerusalem and Judah. God warns the people that destruction was to come upon them, the Israelites.

We need to understand that the enemys victory over them would be a result of their deeds, their rebellion against the LORD. And it is so to this very day. When we rebel against the LORD going after idols and doing the evil things that come to our minds, God allows,or rather our deeds allow the enemy to prevail against us and the LORD says, Your ways and your doings have procured these things for you (verse 18).

The enemys prevalence is a result of the things we do and the ways we live by. But there is still hope! On verse 14 God says that there is a possibility of salvation as He says, wash your heart from wickedness, that you may be saved. The cleansing of our hearts from wickedness and evil thoughts is the key to reverse the situation over which the enemy has prevalence, and to receive forgiveness, favour and grace from the LORD.

Examine your life to see whether there is anything that may be giving power to the enemy to prevail and, then, wash your heart from wickedness, that you may be saved.
