View Profile History	classics Posted : 27 Aug, 2013 05:43 PM I'm with you there. I love all of Jane Austen's works. Although her plots aren't terribly complex and usually centre in on finding a husband, her characters are very well developed and interesting. I also appreciate her satire. Post Reply

View Profile History	classics Posted : 15 Mar, 2014 01:10 AM It is somewhat heartening to see that fine writing is still being read, For myself, my favourite book of them all is probably Dostoyevsky's The Brothers Karamazov, Tolstoy's Anna Karenina, Currently reading my way through Thomas Hardy's novels, it is difficult to not be moved by the tragic fate of Tess, I love Hardy's characterisations, his description of the Wessex countryside, country ways and his dialogue. Fond of George Orwell, life is short, so many wonderful books! Post Reply
